The way bright sunlight appears as it bursts through the canopy of a grove of trees. The angular petals of a mass of bougainvillea and the way they grow freely over inner-city walls. Endlessly variable compositions. Endlessly variable materials. These were some of the thoughts behind Light Garden as a conceptual approach to scalable atmospheric lighting.
The Light Garden is designed to recreate the quality of varied, ambient light found in nature within an interior environment. The fittings use a series of triangular panels, in different sizes as a relief sculpture coming out from the wall. The light radiates from behind the panels.
As is often seen in nature, the geometric system can fit together and grow into unlimited compositions which result in a naturalistic spread of light across any surface. The installation itself provides endless scale and opportunity for personalisation. The collection is often used as a single light fitting and is also installed across vast ceilings in commercial projects.
The materiality for the product can be quite versatile for larger custom installations, however it is currently available for purchase in Brass, Blackened Brass, White and Black. The collection includes four sizes with the option of the primary light and a complementary flat panel which adds depth variation in a cluster. The light source is a concealed warm LED with dimmable control options.
